About Me

Michael Cheuk and family

Hi! I’m Michael Cheuk.

I’m a nerdy follower of Christ (the one on the far right in the picture above) who has an appetite for learning and research. God has also gifted me with the ability to share my findings in ways that everyone can benefit! I love engaging in life-giving conversations with people and churches to make a positive difference in their lives … and mine!

My current story

For the past twenty years, I’ve ministered in churches as an associate pastor and as pastor. In 2016, I stepped down to take time to explore new avenues to fulfill my calling. Along the way, I have learned lessons that I hope to share them with you on this blog covering topics such as personal identity, church life, self-leadership, and what entrepreneurs can teach ministers and the church.

Currently, I am on an entrepreneurial journey. I just founded Dialogical Pathways LLC, a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to helping individuals and organizations collaborate with purpose through the power of compassionate communication.

In the meantime, you can find a number of resources on this website that I developing for lay leaders and churches. I’m also available to serve as a supply preacher to churches.

My education and experience

My educational training includes degrees from Rice University (BA), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), and the University of Virginia (PhD in ethics).

I am also a Certified Christian Leadership Coach trained by Coach Approach Ministries. I have the ACC accreditation with the International Coaching Federation. I’ve also received training as a church consultant with the Center for Congregational Health.

My personal life

I’ve been married to my wife Beth for over 24 years. We have a college-age daughter and a son in high school. Beth’s dad (and our dog Maggie) round out the household.

My hobbies include reading, photography, singing, cooking, and bringing fresh coffee to Beth’s dad first thing in the morning.

Thanks for visiting my site, and I hope we can learn from one another along the way!

Michael
